I get to meet all kinds of interesting people in my work. Recently, that privilege hit a new high.
Samantha who?
Out of the blue, I received a strange call and someone on the other end blurb something about travel series. My jaw dropped when it became clear that producers from Optomen US wanted me to work on content development for the highly popular Samantha Brown travel series. My wife is an ardent fan of Sam and was over the moon when told of my upcoming stint.
After a bout of frenzy emailing, script flow discussions and recce trips, the shooting crew and Sam finally flew in and started shooting. I enjoyed some fantastic time working with professionals who flew in from London and New York. The jungle was humid and local weather was extremely hot but that did not deter anyone from cranking at full pace.
I choose to feature these photos because I want people to see the story behind. It’s hard work. To keep audience amused, Sam has to constantly master new moves (in this picture, I am showing her how to handle a blowpipe) to spice up the storyboard. Compounded by raw countryside, punishing schedule and weeks away from hubby at home in New York, I felt sorry for her. But I know she enjoys what she does tremendously and draws inspiration from her travels.
